Description
Finally after many requests and a long wait LauncherPope is proud to offer MILC Chambers to the public. Not only are we finally offering these for sale, but they have received a healthy facelift and upgrade from the original design. Professionally Machined by Easton Machining LLC the fit and finish is unmatched. These chambers are constructed from Stainless Steel and are sure to last a lifetime.
With the purchase of a chamber you will receive the Chamber, Grub Screw and the newly designed Gas Directing Nut. With the addition of the Gas Directing Nut all of the expelled high pressure gases will be forced upwards in the direction intended for flight. Not only does it direct the gases in a better direction but it will also help increase shell lifespan by preventing the gases from colliding directly into the shell wall.
The Chambers utilize a 38 Blank that you can construct yourself. 38ShortColt, 38S&W and 38LongColt brass will fit. We recommend a blank to contain 5-12grain of your desired powder. Start low and work your powder charges up slowly. Most Pistol or Shotgun powders work in the MILC chambers but our recommendation is Alliant Bullseye or Alliant Unique/BE86. Experimenting with powders is half the fun. Soon we hope to have more accurate load data for 40mm devices. 37mm load data can be found in the original MILC release…here
Beyond having just the blank in the chamber you will also need a Burst Tube inserted and covering the interior of the vent holes. A Burst Tube and separate high pressure chamber is what really sets it apart from traditional Gas Check style blanks, the power difference is extreme. The Burst Tube is a 10x35mm sheet of metallic material rolled into a tube used to hold back pressure until finally bursting into the low pressure chamber. Burst tubes can be constructed of lots of materials, most notably Soda cans or 0.2-0.4mm Copper Sheeting.
